What places does BaliTripMap feature?

BaliTripMap is a travel map that brings together local restaurants and cafés, as well as places with a great nightlife scene—such as live pubs, jazz bars, wine bars, cocktail bars, and rooftop bars—in one map. It covers Bali (Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud, and Uluwatu), Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Lombok and the Gili Islands, and Labuan Bajo.

How do we select places?

We consider the following criteria together.

Places with a Google rating of 4.0 or higher and a substantial number of reviews.

We prioritize long-established local favorites, notable warungs (local eateries) serving dishes such as babi guling, nasi campur, and satay, restaurants recognized by the MICHELIN Guide (including Bib Gourmand selections), and places featured by local and international travel publications.

We list only places with signs of having been open within the past year, such as recent visitor reviews or official posts.

For nightlife, we select places where you can enjoy music, drinks, and the atmosphere.

What do “Verified” and “Visited by the editor” mean?

“Verified” means the operator has confirmed through Google Maps and recent visit records that the place is still open.

“👣 Visited by the editor” means the operator has been there in person. However, we do not list a place if recent reviews have turned negative, even if the operator has visited it. The food and service may have changed since that visit.

Who writes the descriptions?

The descriptions and editor’s notes are compiled by BaliTripMap after comparing Korean-, English-, and Indonesian-language blogs, local media, travel guides, and the businesses’ official channels. We do not reproduce source text verbatim, and we list the sources consulted at the bottom of each place page.

Content written in Korean is also provided in English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Russian, German, and French using AI translation.

What places do we not feature?

We do not feature adult entertainment venues such as karaoke bars with hostesses, hostess bars, adult shows, or illicit massage parlors and spas. We leave out chain outlets and hotel buffets unless they are representative of that city.

How is information updated?

When we add a new place or receive a tip, we recheck whether it is open and its opening hours. Places confirmed to be closed are removed right away.

Opening hours and prices may change, so before you visit, please check the latest information using the “View on Google Maps” button on each place page.

Videos and copyright

Videos on place pages are publicly available YouTuber visit videos displayed using YouTube’s official embed feature. Copyright remains with each video creator. If a creator does not want their video displayed, we will remove it upon request.
